Archie FAQs

Is Archie Software all things to everyone?

No. We believe that the simple, straightforward approach makes things easier for customers. This is why we added only the key features opticians need to track their clients and Rx keeping things simple, clear and easy. How opticians have always handled paper Rx cards has been our guide.

Do I have to download anything?

No. Archie Optician Software is browser based. All you need are your credentials.

Who owns the data records in my account?

You do. We provide the most secure system possible to manage your private data but we have no rights to it. If you cancel your account we permanently wipe your account and data. Of course, you are able to download all your data, at any time, in a spreadsheet or other file types.

Are my data records safe and secure?

Yes. We work hard to not only make sure our software is HIPPA compliant but we follow the highest level in online security available. We adopt industry appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your Personal Information, username, password, transaction information and data stored in your user account. Access to your name and email address is restricted to our employees who need to know such information in connection with providing Archie Services to you and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Is my data backed up? Can I back it up?

We have a system in place to manage ongoing backups but you can backup your data anytime as a spreadsheet or other file types to your computer, or even have it emailed to you.

Whether you pay monthly or yearly you get up to 5 users: 2 opticians and 3 staff. You can manage their permission levels in the software.

I have multi-locations. Can I have more users?

Yes. Contact us and we will make sure you get what you need.

Do you offer support?

Yes. Chat works best right from our website but we also offer phone & email support. We will work hard to help you with what you need.

Can I customize the look of the software?

Yes. There are a number of options you can change:

  • Background Color/Pattern
  • Background Color/PatternButton Background Color
  • Client Panel Bkg Color
  • Panel Background Color
  • Table List Header Color
  • Table List Hover Color

Does the software require any training?

No. Archie Optician Software is so intuitive you could get most the features just by clicking around. We provide videos that take you through each part of the software to help make it even easier.

What are the hardware requirements?

As Archie Optician Software is browser based and all in the cloud. feel free to use any desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device you prefer. It does work exceptionally well on the iPad...

Am I able to print records?

Yes. There are printing features built right in.

Can I log into my account anywhere?

Yes. We recommend that you use only your own protected devices to log into Archie  to prevent people from accessing your credentials from a saved password. If you forget to log out of Archie the system will time out after 20 minutes on no activity.

How many records can I have?

Our system can easily handle tens of thousands with ease. We scale our software as needed. This is one of the advantages of cloud-based software.

So there is reporting?

Oh, yes there is! We love the reporting feature and we are always adding new ways for you to view your data.
